Sourcing Model

Insight Partners is recognized for its distinctive, outbound-driven sourcing model, which has been a significant contributor to the firm's growth. Rather than relying solely on partner networks or inbound deal flow, Insight developed a dedicated sourcing team, responsible for systematically identifying high-potential software companies at various stages of growth.cite-ref-schwartz-20-0[20]

This sourcing function, staffed primarily by analysts and associates hired directly out of university, is credited with originating approximately 60% of Insight's venture investments.cite-ref-schwartz-20-1[20]

The firm's systematic approach to sourcing has been cited as a key driver behind Insight’s expansion to over $90 billion in assets under management as of April 2025,cite-ref-schwartz-20-2[20] and has contributed to building one of the largest and most influential alumni networks in venture capital.cite-ref-schwartz-20-3[20]
